Staying Alive Foundation Awards for Youth-led Organizations

The Staying Alive Awards supports young people working in the prevention, education and awareness of HIV and AIDS in different countries of the world. The Staying Alive Foundation is inviting applications from youth-led organizations and young individuals between the age of 15 and 27 years working in HIV and AIDS awareness campaigns around the globe. The awards aims to support projects for one year, covering practices that provide awareness and prevention of HIV and AIDS, empowering youth leaders in communities and alleviate the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV and AIDS.

There are grants available of up to US $12,000 that will fund the activities of the organizations and individuals. The awards can also be renewed in the next year's call for applications. Applicants need to provide independent references to build credibility of their work. The awards also provide an opportunity for the winners to highlight their work through MTV, which can publicize the projects.

The last date for submitting applications is 6 April 2009. The application form can be downloaded from this link. For more information, visit this link.
