The Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development (APFED) has announced the The Ryutaro Hashimoto APFED Awards for Good Practices (GPs) which aim at promoting the information dissemination of good practices that contribute towards the sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific region. The idea is to gather lessons and best practices emerging from innovative activities implemented by NGOs for sustainable development and environmental management.

The awards carry three prizes with cash grants of US $20,000, $7000 and $2000 and up to eight winners would be offered witht the prizes. The grants will be given for replicating the good practices. The sectoral and cross-sectoral issues covered in the programme include climate change, renewable energy, air, freshwater, land, biodiversity, forest conservation, marine and coastal environment, waste, chemicals, etc. and environmental governance, innovative environmental finance, trade and environment, human capacity development, environmental information, environmental technology, environmental education, etc. Applications are accepted by email.
