CIVICUS invites applications for the Nelson Mandela Graca Machel Innovation Awards from those organisations who attended the CIVICUS World Assembly in Glasgow, United Kingdom (UK) in June 2008. These awards are aimed at providing seed funding for innovative ideas emerging from organisations or groups of participants at the CIVICUS World Assembly. The broad idea is to support community-based and grassroots initiatives with an emphasis on the overall World Assembly theme: Acting Together for a Just World. CIVICUS has mobilised the necessary resources to award grants of up to US$5,000 each.
